Western Allows Tailgaters Alcohol

riggertMissouriWesternMissouri Western will allow tailgaters to have alcohol prior to home football games starting with the first home game against Missouri S&T.

The new policy, announced Thursday, designates parking lot’s H, I and J for tailgating.

The lots will open four hours prior to kickoff. University officials say the move is consistent with other universities in the MIAA and across the nation.

The sale of alcohol is still prohibited, as are drinking games, glass containers and kegs. Tailgating and drinking must stop within 30 minutes after the games begin.

“A vibrant tailgating scene adds much to the festive atmosphere on our campus. “Student Affairs Vice Shana Meyer said.

The first home game is Saturday, September 15th.
