29 Bills On the Bubble As The Veto Session Opens Wednesday

Gun signOne of the focal points in the veto session of the legislature that starts Wednesday is House Bill 436, which makes it illegal to enforce some federal gun laws in Missouri. Businessman Paul Hamby of Maysville says the Second Amendment Preservation Act is a nullification law needed to curb federal power.

Hamby says the federal government has grown dramatically because no one has stepped up and said NO…and that’s what House Bill 436 does. He says it’s laughable to think that Congress will do anything to limit its own power, especially after the way it’s behaved in recent years. The bill is probably the second-most-talked about among the 29 Governor Nixon vetoed, right behind House Bill 253, the major tax cut measure.
