Michael G. Beattie, Sr., 65, Phoenix, Arizona died Monday, September 9, 2013 in South Bend, Indiana.

He was born July 9, 1948 to Hubert and Clara (Bell) Beattie in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He was an over the road truck driver for Melton Trucklines.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Holmes; great-granddaughter, Izleigh Jael Jourdan Lyman; and brother, Bruce Taylor.

Survivors: children, Vanasse Beattie-Ginn (Jeff), St. Joseph, Missouri, Michael G. Beattie, Jr. (Jaymi), St. Joseph, Missouri, Starla Breitenstein (Marc), Maple Valley, Washington, and Lamont J. Beattie Sr., Phoenix, Arizona; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Steven Beattie (Lita), Scott Beattie, Hubert Beattie Jr. (Francine Knight), Susan Beattie, Jamie Beattie, and Marie Langston (James); and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
