The inaugural Civic Academy begins a six-week course on Saint Joseph Wednesday evening. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Patt Lilly says the Chamber brought together various groups to give participants a good look at their community. The Civic Academy’s first session includes a guided tour of the area, and dinner at the landmark Hoof and Horn restaurant.

Future weekly sessions will cover economic development, downtown, public safety, education, health services, infrastructure, and community livability. This first Academy sold out quickly, but the Chamber is already taking names for a future Academy. Call (816) 232-4461 to get your name on the list.
