Two men being held in connection with the apparent drug overdose of a St Joseph woman were arraigned in Buchanan County Court Tuesday.

Authorities found the body of Tangela Fisher in a homemade box in Platte County September 13th.

Prosecutors say Martin Williams prepared the syringe used by Fisher to inject drugs when she died. Williams is accused of making a box to put the body in, and dumping it in a remote Platte County location. In court documents, authorities say Juan Naranjo was present, and helped dispose of the body.

Williams is being held pending a preliminary hearing October 10th. Naranjo, who officials say is in the country illegally, is behind bars awaiting a preliminary hearing October 11th.

Both men told the court they would apply for a public defender. Williams is charged with involuntary manslaughter and abandonment of a corpse. Naranjo allegedly had drugs in his pocket when he was arrested. He is charged with hindering prosecution of a felony and possession of a controlled substance.
