(AP) — Springfield police say a man has been taken into custody after a threat was made involving a middle school.

The school district said on its website that Cherokee Middle School was on lockdown Friday morning after the unconfirmed threat involving the school was made. The lockdown was lifted about 10 a.m. The district did not detail the nature of the threat.

Police spokeswoman Lisa Cox said an adult male had been arrested in connection with the alleged threat. His identity hasn’t been released.

School officials said the lockdown was prompted by district concerns about an overnight domestic incident involving the family of one of the school’s students.
