Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Saint Joseph needs more volunteers to help youngsters waiting for a mentor. The organization has matched 70 adults with 70 youngsters, but another 50 children are on a waiting list. Melissa Carson says Big Brothers Big Sisters hopes to recruit 25 new volunteers in Saint Joseph to cut the waiting list in half. The campaign is part of Mission 350, a regional effort aimed at recruiting 350 new volunteers in the greater Kansas City area.

Carson says being a “big” takes no special skills, just a desire to share 2 to 4 hours a week with a “little” who needs a positive role model.  For more information call Melissa Carson at 816.671.4090.
