Corrections officials say an inmate at the Crossroads Correction Center in Cameron has died while in custody.

Officials say Daren Walker died at 10:05 am, Oct. 1. According to a news release from the Department of Corrections, Walker died of natural causes.

Walker was a 46-year-old male, serving a 13-year sentence for statutory rape in Jackson County.

He was received into the Missouri Department of Corrections don July 29, 2013.
