The Fair Grove mayor has dropped a lawsuit that he filed against the southwest Missouri city after aldermen voted to impeach him.

Records show Mayor Tim Smith and aldermen have negotiated an end to the case. It wasn’t immediately clear whether alderman had dropped impeachment efforts.
The lawsuit filed in June alleged that board members met privately in violation of Missouri open records law. It also alleged that they failed to give Smith any notice of charges against him before making a motion and subsequently voting to impeach him.
Court records show that a judge is scheduled to review the case next month.
