A freshman at Park Hill High School died early Friday after taking an LSD-like imitation drug, and Platte County authorities say they’ve arrested two teenagers in the case.
Another victim was treated at the hospital.
Kristy Meeks, age 17, and Jamell Montgomery, who is 18, have been charged with distribution of an imitation controlled substance. Both are being held in the Platte County Jail under $25,000 cash bond.
Investigators say they were called to a home in the 4900 block of NW Fisk Drive early Friday morning to the report of an unresponsive juvenile male.
Officials say the juvenile had taken an imitation controlled substance, known as “acid” that resulted in him being transported to an area hospital.
The juvenile was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
