An explosion on a natural gas pipeline in northwestern Oklahoma sparked a large and roaring fire on Tuesday night.
Firefighters from Oklahoma and Kansas were called to the scene near the town of Rosston. Residents within two miles of the blast were ordered to evacuate. Highway 284 was shut down as a precaution.
Utility engineers were also called in to cut off the natural gas flow to the pipeline, which is owned by Northern Natural Gas of Omaha, and brings gas from Texas to the Upper Midwest.
At the time of this writing, no injuries or deaths have been reported, according to the Harper County Sheriff’s Office.
