The City of St Joseph shut down its household waste collection event a little earlier than planned because of a huge increase in business.

Officials said they had run out of boxes for all that antifreeze, pesticide and paint.

The event was closed at two o’clock Saturday as their total approached 700 carloads, dwarfing last year’s record total of 451.
