Columbia police are investigating after a body was found along Interstate 70.
Authorities received calls two calls Saturday reporting a large amount of blood, clothing and a shoe along the westbound lanes of the highway. Investigators say it appears the victim was hit by a car.
Investigators have tentatively identified the body as that a 36-year-old Columbia man. But Columbia police Sgt. Curtis Perkins said they’re withholding the name until tests reach a positively identification.
Perkins says the preliminary ID was based on documents found nearby.
