An unusual accident claimed the life of a Kansas man Tuesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol identifies the victim as Darren Eugene McVicker,47, of Ness City.

Investigators say McVicker was driving on a county road southwest of Ness City when he lost control of his pickup.

The vehicle went into both the east and west ditch before it got stuck in the mud.

The Patrol believes he then attempted to get the vehicle out, but fell under the rear tire and was run over.
