Highway Patrol and Sheriff’s officials are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that left one person dead in Amazonia Thursday night.

Two suspects are in custody after a vehicle pursuit that began in Buchanan County and ended on Country Road 373 near K Highway at about 11 pm. There were three occupants in the fleeing vehicle. One was shot and killed. Two were taken to the Andrew County jail.

The Andrew County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are handling the investigation.
