Two Injured In Crashes Involving Animals In Roadway

MSHP badge goldAnimals in the roadway caused a couple of accidents in our area over the weekend.

A Platte City woman, Yvonne Kittling, swerved to avoide a deer on I-29 Saturday. She suffered serious injuries when her Oldsmobile left the highway, hit a bridge pillar and overturned.

Kittling, 31, was transported to North Kansas City Hospital.

A motorcyclist from Montebello, California hit a coyote in the highway north of Cameron Sunday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Florensio Gonzalez, 50, escapee with minor injuries.

Investigators say his Harley Davidson hit the coyote along US-69 north of Cameron at about 6:20pm Sunday. The bike overturned and ejected Gonzalez. He was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
