St Joseph School Superintendent Dr. Fred Czerwonka on Thursday reported on his first months on the job and laid out a broad road map for the future.
Dr. Czerwonka’s report, available here, details his activities during the listening and planning phases of his first few months here.
Under the Leading phase of the report, he sets forth goals and the targets for measuring success.
Those benchmarks include: stabilizing the operating levy; expecting each school to exceed state average test scores; ensuring that our customers’ needs are being met as evidenced by surveys; refining the long range facilities plan; performing in the top 10 percent of all districts as measured by the Annual Performance Report; increasing staff retention from 50 to 70 percent; and reducing costs by $1 million and increasing revenue by $1 million through the continuous improvement model.
Dr. Czerwonka described the transition of leadership as “one of great excitement, fulfillment and opportunity,” noting that the community has made his family feel at home.
