Donald G. Miller, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 20, 1925 to Arthur and Ruth (Garland) Miller in Neola, Iowa.
Donald married Frances E. McNish, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Miller served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as an engineer for the Missouri State Highway Department. Donald was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church and Gideons International. He volunteered at Humboldt School, Heartland as a chaplain volunteer, the Food Kitchen, and was also a former Scout Master.
He enjoyed travelling, especially family vacations as his family was his most cherished possession.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Kenneth and Richard Miller.
Survivors: daughter, Deborah (C. Michael) Hanlan; sons, Larry (Terri) and James B. (Karren) Miller; sister-in-law, Eva Jeanne Steffey; five grandchildren, Mikey, Michelle, Missy, David, and Mindy; nine great-grandchildren, Nick, Hayley, Dillon, Scott, Zach, Collin, Michaela, Brock, and Ashlyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Community Presbyterian Church. Interment Ashland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
