Thanksgiving Feast Can Be A Nightmare For Your Pets

thanksgiving-turkey-dinnerAs you plan your Thanksgiving celebration, you might take steps to protect your four-legged friends from the rich food on the table. Dr. Melanie Barnes of Countryside Veterinary Clinic most dogs and cats don’t tolerate people food, and some foods that are enjoyable and safe for us are toxic to them.

Onions, grapes, raisins, and chocolate are common foods that are bad for pets. Grapes and raisins can damage the kidneys. Also toxic to pets is Xylitol, a sugar substitute often used in chewing gum.

Dr. Barnes says her recommendation is no table food whatsoever, just resist those big brown eyes and stick with the dog food.
