A Nashville, Tennessee man was seriously hurt in a crash along I-29 near Watson early Friday morning.

Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol report Yovani Varela, 31, was driving a van on the interstate shortly after 3 am when a tire blew out.

The van left the interstate and rammed into a bridge railing.

Varela was transported to Grape Memorial Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa, and from there to th4e Creighton Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
