A woman who was shot at a motel in northern Kansas City is found dead early the next day in a car in Independence.

olice responded to a shooting around 10 p.m. Thursday at a Motel 6 just off Interstate 29 near Barry Road. Officers found what appeared to be a shooting scene, but the people involved were already gone.
Police were told a vehicle with the woman inside had arrived at North Kansas City Hospital but left before dropping her off.
The vehicle with the woman’s body inside was found about 4 a.m. Friday near Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Police say it’s not known if the woman’s death is a homicide.
