No charges have been filed after two people were hurt in a shooting incident at an apartment building in the Midtown area of St Joseph Sunday.
St Joseph Police Captain Jeff Wilson says officers responded to the 1600 block of Buchanan Avenue at around 8am Sunday. Officers found several bullet holes in the building. They made contact with two people who were injured.
“They found where some of the bullets had impacted the building, and they were able to gain access to the residence,” Wilson said. “And at that time they located two subjects inside the residence. Those individuals were transported by ambulance and were treated for non life-threatening gunshot wounds.”
Those two victims were treated and released from Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Two people were arrested at the time of the incident, but were not charged.
“The detectives are going through the case in its entirety and are trying to pull some leads together, but at this point in time what they’re telling me is that there are no charges to be filed right now.”
