Jerry Louis Engle, 68 was born in Plattsburg, Missouri on January 6th, 1945 and later moved to St. Joseph, Mo. He passed away Saturday morning November 30th, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones.
Jerry had many occupations including a butcher, a supervisor at Krauss Milling, an auctioneer, volunteer EMT, city Health Inspector and a reserve Police Officer.
Jerry was a member of the Saxton Blue Lodge No. 508, A.M. & F.M., 32nd Degree K.C.C.H. Scottish Rite Mason; Moila Shrine; and a Scout Master of Troop 12 and a member of Mic-O-Say.
Jerry loved fishing, wood-working, making toys, playing Santa Claus every Christmas, fixing furniture, camping and cooking. Jerry was known for his jokes and wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Janice; his children Paul Engle (Jeanna) and Tanya Engle; grandchildren Josh and Dakota Engle; siblings Randy and Brenda Engle; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as step grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of St. Joseph, Mo.
Memorial Service: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
