Michael L. Weir
1952-2013

Michael Lee Weir, 61, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his residence.

Michael was born July 21, 1952 in St. Joseph to James and Norma (Grimm) Weir. In 1970 he graduated from Lafayette High School. On July 22, 1972 he married Susan Diane Keling in St. Joseph. Michael worked fifteen years for Missouri Air National Guard and then fifteen years for Heartland Hospital, where he worked in several different departments. Michael was a family man and loved spending time with his family. His other hobbies included fishing and camping.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie and maternal grandparents Merle Grimm and Freda Edwards.

Survivors include his wife Susan “Diane” Weir, of the home; two children, Chris (Michelle) Weir and Patti (Mike) Blanchard; brother, Richard L. (Gina) Weir; sister, Jennifer (Arthur) Bowman; five grandchildren, Bryer, Autumn, Alexander Blanchard and Grant, and Shalyn Weir and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with Pastor Jennie Moore officiating. Interment will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Mo. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
