St Joseph Police report little progress finding out who opened fire at a house in the Midtown area.
Commander Janice Rothganger says an elderly man is being treated for injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.
She identified the victim as Delbert McDonald, 76, of St Joseph.
McDonald was inside a house at 1902 Edmond Street shortly after 9pm Sunday when he was hit by gunfire, apparently fired by someone outside the house.
Rothganger says Mr McDonald is expected to recover. He is still in the hospital.
“We have no other information at this time,” Rotherganger says.
“If anybody has information they’d like to share with us they should call (816)238-TIPS.”
Rothganger says the call is anonymous and callers could be elibigle for a cash reward should their information lead to an arrest.
