Union Pacific Railroad on Wednesday will present a $10,000 gift to Second Harvest Community Food Bank. This gift would buy enough food to fill a railroad boxcar.

Ben Jones from Union Pacific will present a check to Chad Higdon of Second Harvest during a get together December 4 at Second Harvest.

As federal nutrition program benefits reduce, officials say more families will turn to Second Harvest to make ends meet.

This donation will allow Second Harvest to continue to provide nutritious food throughout the holiday season, equaling over 7,000 meals.
