Snow-packed and icy driving conditions greeted Sunday morning motorists in western Kansas. In St Joseph and Kansas City light snowfall was reported, but over time, snow has accumulated on St Joe streets.
The national weather service predicted total daytime accumulation of up to an inch Sunday in St Joseph.
The Kansas Department of Transportation reported completely snowpacked and icy highways in the western and north-central areas, and partly snowpacked conditions elsewhere by 5am Sunday.
