Calvin W. Schweizer
1925-2013

Calvin W. Schweizer was born on February 26, 1925 and passed away December 7, 2013 at the age of 88. Calvin married Rita Wicklin on August 1, 1947 to which two sons, Stephen and Mark were born. Calvin was involved in the orchard and farming business. He served in World War II in Japan.
Calvin loved to fish, spend time at his house in the Ozarks, combine grain and travel. Calvin is a member of the First Christian Church of Savannah and the American Legion Post 287. He graduated from Savannah High School.
Preceeding him in death were his parents, Conrad and Martha (Hoffelmeyer) Schweizer; and three brothers, Raymond, Pearl and Ralph Schweizer.
Surviving him is his wife of 66 years, Rita Schweizer, of the home; sons, Stephen Schweizer (Becky) Savannah, Missouri and Mark Schweizer (Roxanne), Amazonia, Missouri; grandchildren, Cory Schweizer (Allison), Savannah, Missouri, Andrea Fischer (Matthew), St. Joseph, Missouri, Nicholas Schweizer (Abby), Savannah, Missouri, Christopher Schweizer, Savannah, Missouri, and Dr. Kristen Willoughby (Kyle), Sedalia, Missouri. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Ella and Kate Fischer, Cole and Cooper Schweizer, and Colton Willoughby.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Savannah Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday.
