Charles M. Garreth, 56, a lifelong resident of Easton, Mo., died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 20, 1957 to Bob and Jean (Brooner) Garreth in St. Joseph, and was a 1975 graduate of Central High School. Charles was a farmer and enjoyed playing cards, listening to organ music, and was also a mechanic who could fix anything.
He was a member of the Abundant Life Center congregation of Community of Christ Church, a friend to all he met, and was always so generous with his time, without a need for something in return.
He was preceded in death by his father; uncle, Merle Garreth; uncle, Myron Hedrick; uncle, Orman Brooner; uncle, Richard (El Marie) Brooner; and aunt, Allie (Joe) Tolbert.
Survivors: mother; sister, Anita Simon (Mike), Clarksdale, Mo.; brother/cousin, Dennis Garreth (Susan), Easton; Aunts, Lois Garreth (George Stuber), Easton, Pat Hedrick, Bolingbrook, Ill., Colleen Brooner, St. Joseph; uncle, Bill Brooner (Bonnie), St. Joseph; nephews, Brian Scott Simon, Kansas City, Mo. and Michael Joe Simon, Chicago, Ill.; numerous cousins, friends, and neighbors; and his dog named Heidi.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Monday, Abundant Life Center. Inurnment Clarksdale Cemetery, at a later date.
