(AP) The Missouri Department of Transportation says in a release that the replacement of the Route 92 Bridge, which is referred to as the Beverly Bridge, will reopen to traffic by the end of day Friday.
The original 70-year-old structure closed July 8 and was replaced with a new bridge that includes two 12-foot driving lanes and 4-foot paved shoulders. The bridge opens one week ahead of schedule.
MoDOT says the Route 92 bridge is a critical roadway for traffic traveling from northwestern Missouri to the Leavenworth, Kan., area and carries more than 9,300 drivers each day.
