James (Jim) C. Hudson, Sr., 89, St. Joseph, died Monday, December 16, 2013.
He was married to Imogene Hudson for 67 years. Born in Capps, Ark., James served during WWII with the U.S. Army in the Asia-Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged after being wounded on Leyty Island, Philippines.
He enjoyed everything about the game of golf and passed that on to those around him. He also loved camping, fishing, boating and hunting. For many years he coached youth baseball, attended Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, and was a member of the King Hill Lodge No 376, A.F. & A.M.
Jim was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Debra Verbeck (Bob), Kansas City and Lynn Bell, Denver, Colo.; sons, James C. Hudson, Jr. (Terri Lynn), and Donnie Hudson (Donna), both of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Hudson; sister, Marilyn Flanery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kammerer, his trusted physician and friend, and his caring staff.
