Mostly cloudy and mild overnight

Screen Shot 2013-12-18 at 4.48.15 AMAlthough above normal temperatures are expected to continue Thursday, several wintry systems are headed our way later in the week. A strong cold front will push southeastward across the region Thursday night, bringing much colder temperatures and a chance for some very light freezing rain late Thursday night into Friday morning. A second storm system will begin lifting into the eastern Plains for Saturday and Sunday, possibly spreading wintry precipitation across the area. It’s still too soon to look at amounts or specific precipitation types, but the potential does exist for wintry weather to impact holiday travel around the area this weekend.

Tonight Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. South southwest wind 7 to 13 mph.
Thursday A chance of drizzle, then a chance of rain or drizzle after noon. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 49. Calm wind becoming north northeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday Night A chance of rain or freezing rain before midnight, then a chance of freezing drizzle. Cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26. North wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
