East Hills Shopping Center has selected 10 non-profit organizations to receive a donation of $1,000 for the 4th Annual Day of Giving.

The charities receiving donations from the 2013 Day of Giving are:

The American Red Cross, YWCA, Northwest Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center, Salvation Army, Open Door Food Kitchen, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater St. Joseph, Noyes Home for Children, The Colgan Alternative Resource Center, Friends of the Animal Shelter and St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity.

East Hills began the Day of Giving in 2010. Money is collected from the coin drop in Center Court throughout the year and put into a special account to benefit local charitable organizations. In addition to the $2,500 collected from coin drop, the Morgan Family Foundation, whose family is part of the ownership group that owns and operates East Hills, contributed $7,500 to the Day of Giving. As a result, East Hills is able to donate $1,000 to the ten non-profit organizations in the St. Joseph area.

“We are once again extremely grateful for the generosity of the Morgan Family Foundation for their contribution to the East Hills Day of Giving. With their support along with the donations of many East Hills shoppers, we are proud to give money to 10 organizations that benefit the community of St. Joseph in a variety of ways,” said Regan Lyons, marketing manager at East Hills Shopping Center.
