Looking for Santa Claus? There are two ways you can track the jolly old elf’s Christmas progress.

Google is offering its Santa tracker, and you can follow his progress here.

NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, has started tracking Santa again this year as he makes his rounds on Christmas Eve.   NORAD also tracks the number of gifts delivered.

General Charles Jacoby Jr. says Santa appears to be right on schedule.

Families logging here can watch Santa’s progress as Saint Nick and his reindeer fly around the globe. The popular Santa-tracking program drew more than 22 million visitors last year and generated thousands of calls from around the U.S.

In a controversial twist, the military is adding a fighter escort to its animated tracking website this year.  General Jacoby explains why Santa needs a military escort. “To tell you the truth we tried different things, like Cessnas and dirigibles,” Jacoby said, “and only fighter jets can keep up with Santa’s sleigh.
