A St Joe man sentenced to life in prison for robbery and assault has died in custody at age 43.
Authorities with the Missouri Department of Corrections say they do not suspect foul play in the death of Sean Cave.
He was pronounced dead at the Cameron Regional Medical Center at 1:53pm on December 27, 2013.
Cave pleaded guilty in October of 2008 to charges of first-degree robbery, assault with a serious injury, and armed criminal action for an attack in June of that year. A Buchanan County judge sentenced Cave to two life prison terms plus a consecutive sentence of 50 years.
He was being held at the Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, Mo.
DOC officials say an autopsy will be performed.
