The longtime voice of Troop H is retiring this spring.

Sergeant Sheldon Lyon is stepping down from the Missouri State Highway Patrol to take the top post at the St Joseph Safety and Health Council.

Lyon is retiring after 29 years with the MSHP.

For the last 15 years Sergeant Lyon has been the voice of Troop H, serving as Public Information and Education Officer.

Lyon will replace Jackie Spainhower as executive director of the St Joseph Safety and Health Council effective April 1.
