St Joseph police are warning motorists to avoid US-36 throughout the city.

Authorities issued the travel advisory Wednesday night because of icy driving conditions on the highway from the Missouri River to Riverside Road.

That advisory remained in effect Thursday morning.

Doniphan County authorities say most of the snow has been cleared from the highway there, but some icy patches remain.
