An accident shortly before 8am blocked all southbound traffic on I-29 just south of Dearborn. The Missouri State Highway patrol reported an ambulance was dispatched, but there was no further word on injuries.
[Note: by 8:50am the roadway had been cleared, but troopers continued to investigate the crash]
US 36 highway is icy and dangerous. Police urged you to stay off that highway through St Joseph, between Riverside Road and the River.
But, a motorist says I-229 is not much better. That leaves few options for people coming to St Joe from Kansas.
Missouri Route 111 south of Forest City in Holt County is very slick. Shortly after 7:30am a delivery truck slid off the road and into a ditch outside the Exide Technologies plant. A state trooper was dispatched to direct traffic, in an effort to prevent further problems.
Dozens of accidents are reported throughout the Kansas City metro, where media report “all the highways are a mess.”
