Maintenance on the Amelia Earhart Bridge could slow down your commute starting Friday.

According to KDOT, U.S. 59 over the bridge will be reduced to one open lane, one direction at a time.

Crews will do some navigational light work within the bridge arches.

The work will take place Friday-Tuesday, February 21 and 24-25 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

Drivers should expect minor delays during the daily lane closures and will be directed through the project work zone via signage and cones.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
