The snowstorm that hit St Joseph Saturday night failed to meet even the most conservative expectations.

The National Weather Service estimates the snowfall Saturday night and Sunday morning in St Joseph at 3.6 inches.

Predictions by the weather service had ranged from five to eight inches Saturday afternoon. Some other agencies had predicted much higher snow totals.

The City of St Joseph implemented Phase Two of the Emergency Snow Ordinance effective at 6:15 pm Saturday.

The weather service expected up to another one to two inches on Sunday.
