ST. JOSEPH – Dallas Franklin Kretzer 61, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 5, 1952 in St. Joseph, son of Gertrude and Don Kretzer. He graduated from Benton High School. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Nestle-Purina in the production department for 23 years. He enjoyed softball, camping, fishing, being outdoors, family vacations, and he loved his coffee. He was a member of Baptist faith.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include, his companion, Judy Griffin of the home; two daughters, Michelle Woolard, and husband Tony and Georgina Griffin all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Robert Woolard, Brittney Woolard and Ashlyn Roberts; and a great-grandson, Layten Eli Malzone; seven brothers, Alec (Jerrie) Hovey, Kenneth (Linda) Kretzer, Larry (Betty) Kretzer, Ernest Kretzer, Richard Kretzer, Charles (Cindy) Kretzer, and Lloyd (Dawn) Kretzer; two sisters, Patricia Ray, and Linda Baskins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Rupp Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Missouri funeral honors program.

ST. JOSEPH – Petro “Pete” Brewka, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by all those who loved him deeply on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in a St. Joseph hospital. He was born May 13, 1921 in Huta, Poland, and lived in the United States since 1951. Pete could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and his ability as a handy man helping the neighbors.
He enjoyed family gatherings and playing with his grandchildren. Pete lived a long and joyful life and will be greatly missed and remembered in our hearts. In 1951 he came to St. Joseph with his wife Mary and three children. He worked many years at Swift and Company before retiring as a maintenance man at the Oakridge Interserv apartments in 1985.
Pete was preceded in death by wife, Mary; parents, Ivan and Maria (Halushka) Brewka; two sons, Bohdan and John Brewka; a great grandson, Samuel Eugene Cross IV; and his brother, Ivan.
Survivors include, two sons, Roman Brewka and wife Tracy, and Myron Brewka all of St. Joseph; two daughters, Ann Deen and husband Pat of Saint Joseph, and Irene Auth and husband David of Maryland; ten grandchildren; 12, great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fr. Bohdan Kudleychuk Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery . Memorials are requested to the St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church. The family wished to thank the staff at Heartland hospital for their kind and considerate service.

ST. JOSEPH – Naomi P. Reardon, 89, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born September 26, 1924 to Lue and Pearl (Runyon) Scott in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She married Joseph P. Reardon, Sr. in June 1942. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2002.
Naomi was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors: sons, Joseph P. Reardon, Jr., (Karen), St. Joseph and Gary G. Reardon (Cathie), St. Joseph; grandchildren, Kelly Houston (Steve) and J.P. Reardon, all of Savannah, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Cole, Sean and Kyle Houston; and nieces and nephews.
Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Parish Rosary 6 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. ST. JOSEPH – Eugene Leroy Ueligger, 53, passed away Thursday at his home.
Survivors include: seven children, Tiffany, Derek, Sarah, Dustin, Maggie, Molly and Lily; Two grandsons, Miles and Mitchell; one sister, Mindy; three brothers, Darrell, Lonnie and Shawn; his mother, Jeanne Cooper in Texas; and father, Ernest Ueligger.
Eugene attended Maysville High School. He was employed by Mead Products for 23 years. Eugene had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He had a great eye for antiques. Eugene loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. Eugene will be greatly missed by his large family, his bulldog “Chesty” and many friends.
Mr. Ueligger has been cremated under the direction of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

ST. JOSEPH – Stephen “Steve” Joseph Verostek, 66, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at a local hospital.
Steve was born September 23, 1947 in St. Joseph to Joseph Verostek and Merna Bozarth, where he resided most of his life.
He attended Benton High School and was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Steve was of the Baptist faith and was very patriotic. He also loved listening to music.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and brothers, Jerry and Tom Farthing.
Survivors include his two sons, Jacob Verostek of St. Joseph and Justin (Jeremy) Morgan, of Topeka, Kan.; and their mother, Linda Thornhill; brother Richard (Donna)Farthing of St. Joseph; sisters, Eldora (James) Sloan of St. Joseph and Carole Verostek of Wyoming; granddaughter, Kinley Thornhill; Niece Ricci and fiancé Mike; and nephew, Junior and fiancée Julia. Other survivors include, Kara Thornhill and her children, Kelsey Thornhill, Kamryn Merritt and Deitrick Cary; numerous other nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
Services will be 11 a.m., Monday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with interment following in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
