Qualified individuals from all demographics are welcomed and encouraged to apply to join the 100th Recruit Class of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The application deadline is April 4, 2014.

The selection process includes a written examination, a fitness test, a background check and polygraph and a battery of physical tests.

Candidates are required to meet minimum requirements by the time the recruit class begins on January 5, 2015. The minimum requirements are: possession of 60 college credits, or two years federal (Title 10) active duty military service with an honorable discharge, or two years of POST-certified, full-time law enforcement service.

The starting salary for trooper is $3,137 per month while in training. Additional increases are subject to annual appropriations. Troopers become eligible for advancement in rank after five years of service. Currently, Troopers with five years of service earn $47,484 annually.
