Authorities say an accused child kidnapper was greeted by deputies at home when he arrived with the abducted child.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office says deputies received a call of a child abduction in the 13000 block of C highway. The suspect, Troy Stephens, allegedly took a four-year-old child and left in a red pickup truck

Investigators were able to get an address in Ray County and alerted authorities there.

Law officers in Ray County greeted Stephens as he arrived at his residence, retrieved the child unharmed, and returned the youngster to family members.

Mr Stephens was taken into custody by the Ray County Sheriff’s Office and will be transported to the Platte County Detention Center. He is currently on a 24 hour investigative hold.
