A suspected drunken driver fleeing police crashed through barricades at the South By Southwest festival in Austin.
His vehicle slammed into a crowd of people pouring out of a crowded nightclub. A woman on a moped and bicyclist were killed early Thursday, police said.
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said the suspect eventually crashed and tried to make a getaway on foot. A police officer shocked him with a stun gun and took him into custody.
The suspect was identified as 21-year-old 21-year-old Rashsad Charjuan Owens of Killeen, Texas. He faces two counts of capital murder and multiple counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.
