Sheriff’s Patrol Truck Damaged In Crash With Deer

LCSO4Livingston County must either repair or replace a Dodge Ram that hit a deer Friday night, and it’s likely Sheriff Steve Cox will want to keep the push bumper feature.

Cox tells us Deputy Jack Cooksey was responding to a home-intrusion call, and was following policy guidelines when a deer ran in front of the pickup. The accident happened in southwest Livingston County at about 55 miles per hour.

Sheriff Cox says the push bumper minimized the damage to the truck. But damage was extensive. The vehicle had about 110,000 miles at the time of the crash. Cooksey was not hurt.
