A portion of the Belt Highway in Saint Joseph will be dedicated the Walter Cronkite Memorial Highway this Friday. The legendary newsman was born in Saint Joseph in 1916. He anchored the CBS Evening News from 1962 to 1981.

The Walter Cronkite Memorial at Missouri Western was dedicated last November on what would have been his 97th birthday. The highway dedication is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 3 in the Spratt Hall Atrium. Admission is free. The public is welcome.
