One thing leads to another in Livingston County.
While serving arrest warrants Tuesday at the Dawn Apartments in Dawn, Missouri, law officers spotted one or more people attempting to hide in an apartment.
After serving a flurry of search warrants, Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox says they arrested two people. They seized methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and stolen property.
William Thomas Patterson, 43, Dawn, and Lora M. Leabo, 45, Dawn, are being held under $15,000 bond at the Daviess/Dekalb County Regional Jail. Each is charged with three counts of possession of controlled substances.
Other charges could be pending. Cox says they continue to work with several agencies and victim(s) in a continuing investigation.
The investigation began Monday night. Because of limited staff and the time spent on the investigation, Sheriff Cox says his office office has been in a “blackout” phase, and unable to respond to non-emergency calls.
