Two Mo. Teens injured in I-70 crash with semi-truck

VICTORIA — Two Missouri teenagers were injured in an Interstate 70 accident at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Mazda 3 driven by Conner D. Orban, 18, Hollister, Mo., was westbound on I-70, approximately 11 miles east of Hays, when the vehicle crossed the median and sideswiped an eastbound Kenworth semi. The Mazda came to rest in the median, and the truck stopped in the eastbound shoulder.

Orban was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. A passenger in the Mazda, Rachael A. Boyne, 17, Ridgedale, Mo., was transported to Hays Medical Center.

The truck driver David S. Scott, 37, Blackfoot, Idaho, and a passenger were not injured.

The KHP reported Orban and Boyne were properly restrained.
