Two women were injured in a Friday crash and fire in Buchannan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Cobalt driven by Rachel J. Gough, 21, St. Joseph was northbound on Route Z four miles south of Cosby.

She attempted to negotiate a curve to the right and the car traveled off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck an embankment, overturned and then caught fire.

Gough and a passenger Haylee A. Gentry, 22, Rushville were transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center.

The MSHP reported they were both wearing seat belts
