A St Joe man who stole antique fixtures from a mansion on Museum Hill has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Clint Mechling pleaded guilty March 17 to 2nd Degree Burglary. He admitted he walked into the Vineland Mansion at 1121 Charles Street through an unlocked door several times last November. He stole antique doorknobs, windows, and lighting fixtures.
Buchanan County Circuit Judge Patrick Robb ordered Mechling to serve seven years in prison, and then repay $10,000 in restitution.
